I think this is the best 3rd party 12" to be honest, reggae speedy hardcore on A1 with iconic vocals especially 'Boy is this too much', 'the future' I think is reserved for Breakage #4 the most well know of the breakage tunes.'Survival slows down to a more relevant speed but still displays all the characteristics of the archetypal hardcore jungle record, arguably just a jungle hardcore piano roller from the start (but lets leave the 'first jungle record' argument for another time).B1. Straight from the Bedroom steps the tempo back and reintroduces the deep reggae vocal mixed alongside the east london wide boy 'Now jump all junglist crew, brok-out' a masterpiece of a record alongside anything put up against it these days (2019).and what do we say about B2 - Breakage #4.... 'THE FUTURE', I guess that's all that needs be said about that... if you don't know, you better get to know...
Last missing track from the repress (futuroid) up for grabs on the ibiza bandcamp page.
This really has not gone up in price massively over time this was 30 quid in 2006 when I got it . Would I pay 70 for it now no way . Would I pay 100 for others . Yes I would
It is finally here.3 track repress!!!check out the ibiza bandcamp.
Shame that no Futuroid on this release for some reason
damn, sold out already, gutted. i really need to keep my eye on the ball
What happened to the repress that was supposed to be coming after Boderline repress?
Now on the Ibiza Records bandcamp page. No Futuroid though...
Straight from the Bedroom is a 1992 tune at 170bpm... Music from the future, Kemet were far ahead of the game!
Was this really 1992? I remember it being 93. Cant see a date on the label...
def 1992 i Bought it in Black Market records around October that year
This is a must have and I paid £45. Survival is still different now and far ahead of its time back then but £145 is extracting the urine
Repress coming very soon....save your money. Watch this space peeps
From who and when? Music Preservation Society? I have a repress from ~2002 but it's sound quality is very bad and its on a compilation. If you share some more information I'll wait.
To think that for about 15 years, up until last year, you could pick this up £20 all day long....
This is a great record IMHO all the tunes had play bitd, be it out or Pirate radio.. Top hardcore jungle from the excellent Noise Factory. Must have for me.
dose not have to be a rare tune to be worth alot ,dont know why some rare tunes are worth alot there shit. this is a bad tune a must have
check 2001 reissue for B side tracks, oi ... - https://www.discogs.com/Various-90-95-Classic-Jungle-Old-Skool-EP-Vol-4/release/222693
Top tune breakage #4. Got a near mint original copy of this.
It's not a [email protected] so whoever have brains in, he wouldn't be paying more than a score for it. But for the groundbreaking tunes like Breakage and Futuroid (and for 1992 they are!) I would happily pay 50+VATSome 3rd Party tunes will be repressed in 2018 but Noise Factory will be excluded from what I've heard. I hope I've heard it wrong..
Too right bro decent tune not worth price ppl invent sold mine to a work bud for 30 quid which I thought was good deal for both of us, p.s wicked selection bought from you, big up
Its not as rare as other limited press records of the time but supply and demand is the key. A LOT of people want this and no one really wants to let it go. Plus its an amazing ep with ahead of its time proto jungle of "Breakage #4" plus my fave "Straight From The Bedroom" that got massive plays on the pirates.
Survival, rite at the start of the track, to me sound like it samples cher - I found someone, from back in 1987, if you have been into music all you life nothing skips memory & ya ears, in notes for this track it doesn't state this.
3rd party best ep for sure!
its hard to think that this ep was put together in 1992,way way ahead of its time, nothing at the time sounded like breakage 4,the only noise factory breakage that got cained more so than the other superb tracks on this 4 tracker, this really was a taste of things to come, straight from the bedroom, straight from the top draw.
this ep is a must have ,, its like a quad A side thing ,4 tracks that could all be an A track , i think futuroid was a must have for every pirate radiostation in the uk ,straight from the bedroom was a well played track too ,, cant go wrong with this in the record bag (maybe two copys)
i bring you the future....
What can i say, im not too good at writing reviews, but feel that i just must give this ep a mention, well 1 track in particular really really stands out, it was absolutely hammered back in the day by all the top dj's out there to date, ''survival (i know i can do it if i tryyyyyyyyyyyyy)'' has got to be 1 of the biggest tracks released in 1992, amazing uplifting vocals, with a ruff rolling bassline, enuff to make anybody say ''fuckin ellllllllll'', breakbeat hardcore / jungle at its very finest without a doubt .. # ENUFF SAID # .. 20 out of 10 from me :)).
I agree, Survival is a massive tune, way ahead of its time, can't believe its from 92 it fits in well with tunes released around 95/96 IMHO. The whole EP worth the price!
This EP was way ahead of its time, people talk about where the birth of jungle/drum and bass come from but they un-fairly overlook this EP from 1992 !!....Breakage#4 was cained by every dj who would become a jungle/drum and bass dj of the future and its ironic the sample in it says "I Bring You The Future"...3rd party label's best!!.
