The Big Roar - The Joy Formidable. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. The Big Roar is the debut album by Welsh rock band the Joy Formidable, released in the UK on 24 January 2011 on Atlantic Records, with a US release following on 15 March 2011. The tracks Austere, Cradle, Whirring and The Greatest Light Is the Greatest Shade were originally featured on the band's debut mini album A Balloon Called Moaning. These songs were re-recorded for The Big Roar. Art Fin This 2011 album was an excellent indie rock guitar album with several great songs like Austere, Cradle and Whirring. AlternativeIndie Rock Welsh trio The Joy Formidable have been shaping this debut album for years. Current single Austere came out in its original form way back in 2008, and three other songs on The Big Roar have been released in the intervening years. If you want a model for careful, gradual career building, look no further than this lot. While long-standing fans must be weary from all that waiting, it has proved a wise move for the band, enabling them to tour around the world using their own funds and gracefully step up from support slots to headline act. Discover more music, concerts, videos, and pictures with the Big Roar is a massive, melodic growl of an album, combining four retooled songs from the band's 2009 EP with eight newer tunes. Its not a time capsule, though songs like Whirring update the bands shoegaze influences with the anthemic four-on-the-floor insistence of Arcade Fire, and Ritzy Bryans vocals are pushed to the front of the mix, eschewing the Thatcher-era tradition of burying ones voice beneath layers of distorted guitar squall. There's a right way and a wrong way to write anthems in the early 21st century, and the Joy Formidable - with only three bandmembers present - find themselves on the right side of the dividing line during the majority of this debut. Track Listing. Summary: This is the debut full-length album on Atlantic for the Welsh trio and continues to be a cacophony of rock riffs and pop sensibility. Record Label: Atlantic. The Big Roar is huge: a roller-coaster of an album driven on by urgent, accelerating grunge riffs and punchy pop melodies. The Joy Formidables template is simple. They create a basic melody that Ritzy Bryan sings with ethereal majesty, and build it upwards into an irresistible, molten-lava crescendo. As with Muse, its almost unthinkable that this band only has three members. Well aware of their limitations as individuals, they work hard on this debut album to expand upon them, making the sum greater than the parts.
